hi there. I just came over here from filth-wizardry (don't you LOVE her site!!!) and have enjoyed reading these past 5 or 6 posts. And sidenote -- love the play on words that is your blog title!!! Anyway, i REALLY need to get back to what i should be doing but would love to keep reading here all afternoon.

Ingenious way to reuse a tank top as a potty seat cover! Love the bike helmet fix. And on and on.

One quick question about these potholders: how exactly are they used? I've never seen this shape before and I'm intrigued when you saw they're so convenient. (I've subscribed so will receive any comment you post here...)

Hi Karin! Glad to see you here!

I guess these potholders are more of an Italian style. I don't remember ever having seen them in the States like this. I don't use them for everything, but they're great for picking up pots, for example. They make a cone, so you just put the cone around the pot handle without having to worry about having a long potholder accidentally get set on fire from the burner (which I know I've done more than once!!). And for the small handles of Italian coffee makers. I used to make fun of the ones my husband had from his pre-me days, but eventually I realized that they're actually quite handy!
