cloth diapers

I have been using cloth diapers on my toddler since he was 2 weeks old. I tried the disposables in the beginning and they were less comfortable for him and they leaked when he slept. I LOVE my trifold diapers- they're organic cotton and thick (don't use gerber, they are cheaply made and flimsy). I spent $50 on regular size trifolds when my babe was 5 months old- he still wears the exact ones. I've never needed to spend more. I just fold them differently as he gets bigger. They're AWESOME :)
And yes, very easy to wash. If I have any stains, I'll put in a tablespoon of baking soda in the next wash or I'll hang them in the sun and voila- stains disappear.

I wanted to add to Lisa's amazing facts, but I just realized it seems I'm saying the trifolds are better than hers. Not in the least! All I meant was that cloth is a lot easier than people think. Hers are great and I love how she does them, I just haven't had any experience with them. So please only take my comments as positive additions! :)

:) i'm happy when anybody uses cloth diapers, even if they aren't mine! every person who makes this decision is not only helping himself and his own child, but helping the whole world. so kudos to you, katie, and all you other cloth diapering parents out there!

You make a strong case for cloth diapers.

These are gorgeous! My 3rd and final (sniff, sniff) baby is potty training out of his cloth diapers as I write, or I'd snap these up. Beautiful and conscientious! Bravo!
